Fleming Scholars Program
The Fleming Scholars Program supports legal services attorneys with an interest in academia and issues of economic justice. It honors our friend and colleague Anne Fleming, who before becoming a professor of consumer law and history served — to quote a colleague at South Brooklyn Legal Services — as "a brilliant and selfless advocate, fiercely dedicated to her clients." Anne's career as both an advocate for low-income communities and a scholar of the issues facing those communities was pathbreaking. The Fleming Scholars program supports others in exploring that path by providing travel funds to attend the Consumer Law Scholars Conference as well as mentorship opportunities.
Please contact Ted Mermin (tmermin@law.berkeley.edu) if you are interested in the program or if you have any questions.
