NCLC attorneys Andrea Bopp Stark and Carla Sanchez-Adams have published an advocate's guide for advising clients who have debt incurred by an abusive partner, known as "coerced debt."
Last fall, the Center co-organized the first ever Coerced Debt Summit, which brought together advocates from around the country to discuss the issue. You can read about the summit here.
