Rohit Chopra, inaugural Secretary of the Business and Consumer Services Agency (BCSA) and former Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), visited Berkeley Law this week for a conversation with students and faculty.
He called on students to live up to California’s track record of innovation to tackle the pressing consumer protection, privacy, and antitrust challenges of our day.
With over 150 attendees in a packed room, it’s clear that the Berkeley community is eager to learn more about consumer protection initiatives and the goals of the newly developed agency.
The lunchtime event was expertly moderated by Professor Abbye Atkinson, Associate Dean for Faculty Development and Research and Co-Faculty Director of the UC Berkeley Center for Consumer Law & Economic Justice, and hosted by Ted Mermin, Executive Director of the UC Berkeley Center for Consumer Law & Economic Justice.
